Double-Wedding Weekend!

Our string quartet had the privilege of playing for two weddings and receptions this past weekend!

The first wedding was held at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Murfreesboro, TN. It was a small, but beautiful ceremony and then everybody traveled a very short distance to Oaklands Mansion, where the cocktail hour and dinner were held. We worked with Raina, with “Events by Raina” for this one and we always enjoy her weddings!

This bride chose sacred music for the prelude, “Make You Feel My Love” for the last song before the ceremony and classical music for the ceremony.

Her ceremony choices were:

Groom: Trumpet Tune (Purcell)

Bride: Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (Bach)

Hymn: Come Thou Fount (Hymn)

Recessional: Rondeau (Mouret)

For the cocktail hour, she chose some good ones, such as I Cross My Heart, A Million Dreams, Beyond, Come Away With Me, All of Me, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, I’m Yours and I’ll Be.

The second wedding of the weekend was at Riverwood Mansion, in Nashville, TN. It was another small, intimate ceremony, where we played Canon in D (Pachelbel) for the bride’s processional and Viva La Vida (Coldplay) for the recessional. Per the bride’s request, we played “Bridgerton-like” songs for the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner hour, which included pieces like Wildest Dreams, Diamonds, Yellow, Somewhere Only We Know, Girl on Fire, Can’t Stop the Feeling, Perfect, Thinking Out Loud, The Scientist, Halo, You are in Love, A Sky Full of Stars, She Will Be Loved and many more! We worked with Chloe Sutherland, coordinator at Riverwood Mansion for this one and she was a delight to work with!

Both of these mansions were decorated beautifully for Christmas and we wouldn’t mind doing more December “mansion weddings” in the future!
